Living room chair (and a half)

We have been working hard on design concepts for the living room, and we are beginning to make actual headway! This space will be more hands on than any yet, and we are a bit overwhelmed by the amount of work going into this room.

I will have concept sketches up soon, but for now, lets just enjoy the newest piece, shall we? There are currently three seating options coming into the space to replace the awful couch presently there. Here is one of the new pieces.

It needs a good cleaning with a steamer, but this piece has loads of hidden tricks.

Hurray for hidden tricks!  This unit has a few unexpected surprises for us.  Firstly, the ottoman has a hinged top and ample storage underneath.  We didn’t know this, as the piece was being used as a table to house other things at the estate sale at the time.  Secondly, the chair actually has a twin size hideaway bed stuffed down inside of it.  I can’t imagine it’s actually terribly comfortable, but hey- extra beds are extra beds.  :)

Cuthbert and Porthos approve!

As of now, I don’t intend to reupholster this piece.  Instead it is getting a heavy bath, a good steam clean and a new knit throw.  Just as soon as I get my hands on some lovely turquoise linen blend, that is.

Kisses!
